carly arettCarly Arett: 6th & 8th Grade Counselor
[email protected]

I am so excited to start my first year at East Middle School and my 9th year in education. I have worked in Aurora for most of my career as a teacher, but in the last two years have transitioned into counseling. I love working with the Aurora population and middle school students specifically. I will be supporting students in academics, social-emotional needs, and career exploration. I will be in charge of all of 6th grade and will be helping support 8th grade as well.

As I embark on my third school year at East, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated professionals. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness our students learn and grow during this time. A little about me: I am originally from Orange County, California, and I earned my undergraduate degree from Chico State. I then pursued my master's degree in school counseling at the University of Denver, where I have lived for nearly eight years. I truly enjoy working with the families and students in Aurora and learning about our diverse cultures. In my role as a counselor, I support our 7th and 8th graders in exploring post-secondary options, career paths, academic support, and developing social-emotional skills. I look forward to collaborating with you to provide the best support for our students.
