Counselor Profiles

6th Grade

My name is Rene Mycorn and I am the 6th grade school social worker at East. I support the social and emotional needs of our East Eagles. I have been at East for two years and have a passion for working with middle school students. Previous to working as a school social worker, I was a Child and Family Therapist and worked with adolescents in foster care as well as survivors of human trafficking.

My job is to accelerate student learning every day.  I do my job by ensuring that all students acquire academic, post- secondary and personal/social competencies in order to be community minded contributing members of society.  My community needs me to do my job.
